Electrochemical energy engineer
Electrochemical characterizations of energy storage devices
About Pioniq Technologies:
Our approach is part of an eco-responsible and sustainable logic. This approach is motivated by the absolute need to massively decarbonize energy by promoting e-mobility, rechargeable electronic devices and renewable energies. This fundamental need for decarbonization requires relevant energy storage solutions that themselves address environmental challenges, for example, by eliminating the use of critical materials such as cobalt, nickel and lithium. Beyond the predominant lithium-based technology, it is therefore important to offer a new generation of energy storage devices that meet environmental, user safety and non-toxicity challenges.
Our technology is based on non-toxic solid ionic conductors composed of abundant elements. Our choice for solid systems is justified by the possibilities of miniaturizing, densifying, eliminating the instabilities related to the use of liquids, extending the temperature operating range of the devices and finally the possibility of modeling the materials and interfaces in play as well as their properties by powerful simulation methods. Pioniq Technolgies is hosted in the PC’Up incubator located in the 5th district of Paris, between the Panthéon and the Jardin des Plantes.
Job description :
To achieve our vision of developing disruptive technologies in the field of energy storage, we attach great importance to build a multidisciplinary, diverse and experienced team. Your main mission will be to characterize energy storage devices developed by Pioniq Technologies using impedance spectroscopy and to explore optimization pathways in the geometry, materials composition… of the storage devices.
As part of an emerging fast-growing structure, you will be actively solicited to :
- Structure the R&D activity related to electrochemical characterization by impedance spectroscopy.
- Support the devices optimization by providing accurate data analysis.
- Implement electrical test chambers with control over the temperature, gas and pressure, humidity…
- Document the experimental research activities to establish a solid technical documentation.
- Serve as a liaison with our industrial and international partners to facilitate collaborative projects.
- Conduct research activities within our own facilities and partner laboratories.
Required qualifications and experience :
- An engineer or PhD degree in chemistry or material sciences with a relevant experience in impedance spectroscopy. A focus on solid electrolytes will be appreciated.
- Experience in the study and forming of materials for fuel cells, electrolyzers or alkalin batteries.
- Strong communication and reporting skills (technical documents, presentations, posters…).
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
